St. Michaels Fire Department is an ISO 3/8B Rated Fire Department. Our apparatus includes a 1500 GPM Engine with 1000 Gals of water, a 1250 GPM Engine with 1000 Gals of water, a 1250 GPM, 2500 Gal Tanker, a 105 ft-1250 GPM Ladder Truck, a Fire Rescue Boat, a Brush Truck, an ALS Ambulance and associated Command/Support vehicles.

Our Response Time to the various areas in our District meet the National NFPA Standards. We will not give a response time to insurance companies for an address; instead, please use 1001 S. Talbot St, St. Michaels, MD 21663 as the starting point to the address in question.  Our responders come to our station first, and that response time is between 2 and 5 minutes additional to the response time that a mapping program will give you. 

Our response to any Structural Fire may include; 2 Engines with a total of 2000 Gals of water, a Tanker with 2500 Gals of water and a 100 Ft Ladder Truck. The SMFD is also equipped for, and utilizes adjacent rivers as a water source via Drafting. The SMFD is an Automatic Mutual Aid Department therefore any Structural Fire will automatically result the Easton and Tilghman Fire Department responding with an additional 10,000 Gals of water. Depending on the location and conditions, the nearby rivers may act as a water source for draft via land apparatus or fire boat. 

SMFD does not oversee any fire alarm systems, property access, or private property water access and can not speak to those subjects for underwriting purposes.
